Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Vittoria, Toulouse (T. Rayner, Ass. Comy. Genl.) nearly very fine £1000-1200

Thomas Rayner was born in 1788 and was appointed a Deputy Assistant Commissary General in the Commissariat Department on 22 April 1813, proceeding for service in the Peninsula shortly afterwards. In August 1814 he returned to England; March 1815 sent to Flanders; in February 1816 returned to England; in March 1817 ordered to France; in November 1818 returned to England; in December 1826 ordered to Portugal; in March 1828 returned to England on reduction; in October 1835 ordered to Ireland; in April 1837 placed on half pay on reduction; in August 1837 embarked for Canada. Rayner had been promoted to Assistant Commissary General in January 1837 and became a Deputy Commissary General in December 1849. He died sometime during 1854.
