A Royal Horse Guards officer's dress sword, the straight 96cm blade etched with reversed and intwined crowned EVII cypher, foliate scrolls, regimental device and motto, battle honours to' Tel-el-Kiber 'and owners initials ' RFM ' within cartouche, regulation plated guard with applied brass decorations incorporating ' RHG ' device etc., chequered brass pommel with tang button, fish-skin covered grip bound with copper wire, buff liner and sword knot, complete with its plated scabbard with ornate brass hanging rings and shoe, good condition has been well refurbished probably during its working life £1000-1100

The sword of Sir Richard Frederick Molyneux MVO, son of the 4th Earl of Sefton KCVO, Major late RHG, groom in waiting to King George V and Equerry to Queen Mary. He served in Tirah Expedition 1897-98, Sudan 1898 where he was severely wounded, South Africa 1899-00 and in France 1914-15, he died in 1954.
