Northern Banking Co, Thirty Shillings, 182–, uniface proof on india paper, stuck to paper backing engraved by Carpenter, London. Two spots of thinning on top edge and paper remnants on back, otherwise good very fine, rare (£600-800)

The Northern Banking Co was the first of the new joint-stock banks in Ireland, opening for business on 1 January 1825. Early note issues were printed by Carpenter of London, but within a few years the contract had passed to Perkins and Heath
