India General Service 1895-1902, 1 clasp, Punjab Frontier 1897-98 (Surgn. Captn., A.M.S.), officially re-engraved; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, South Africa 1902 (Capt., R.A.M.C.); British War Medal 1914-20 (Lt. Col.), mounted court style for display, first two with contact marks, very fine and better (3) £350-400

Frederick Meredyth Mangin was born in Limerick on 29 June 1867. He entered the Army Medical Service as a Surgeon Lieutenant on 30 January 1893. He was promoted to Surgeon Captain in January 1896, Major in July 1904 and Lieutenant-Colonel in March 1915. He served on the N.W. Frontier of India, 1897-98 and during the Boer War, serving in Cape Colony, 1902. In the Great War he entered the India theatre of war on 4 August 1914. Lieutenant-Colonel Mangin died on 31 December 1918. Sold with copied m.i.c., I.G.S. 1895 roll extract and other research.
