Military General Service 1793-1814, 10 clasps, Talavera, Busaco, Albuhera, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Orthes, Toulouse (W. Gamble, 48th Foot) nearly extremely fine £3000-3500

Sold with copy muster rolls which show that William Gamble transferred from the 2/48th to the 1/48th following the battle of Albuhera, in which the 2/48th suffered 75% casualties. He was discharged on 3 November 1814, and his absence from the actions at Nivelle and Nive suggests that he may have been wounded in the Pyrenees.
