Military General Service 1793-1814, 6 clasps, Vimiera, Talavera, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Orthes (John Bridgeland, 82nd Foot) top carriage a little bent, edge bruise, otherwise good very fine £1600-1800

John Bridgeland was born at Sutton, Kent, and enlisted into the 82nd on 25 October 1799. He served a total of 15 years 212 days, being discharged at Fort George on 15 June 1815, in consequence of ‘an amputated arm occasioned by a Gun Shot Wound in action with the enemy in front of Fort Erie [North America] on the 17th September 1814.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
