A good Victorian presentation sword of the Artist’s Rifles, an 1827 pattern rifle regiment sword, the straight 82cm blade by Robert Mole & Sons, Birmingham, etched with crowned VR cypher intricate foliate scrolls, etc., and within a scrolling ribbon a presentation inscription ‘Presented to Quartermaster Stirling by the Sergts of the 20th Middlesex (Artist’s) R.V. 22nd March 1899’ retaining almost all its original finish, regulation plated steel guard incorporating strung bugle, fish-skin covered grip bound with silver wire, complete with its plated steel scabbard, minor wear to plating, otherwise fine condition £350-400
