Victory Medal 1914-19 (32050 Pte., Som. L.I.); Memorial Plaque (Bertie Turney) nearly extremely fine (2) £50-70

Bertie Turney was born in Soulbury, Buckinghamshire and enlisted at Luton, Bedfordshire. Serving with the 6th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry, he died of wounds on 28 October 1917, aged 33 years. He was buried in the Godewaersvelde British Cemetery. He was the son of George and Elizabeth Turney and the husband of Annie E. Turney, of “Brierley”, Soulbury, Leighton Buzzard. Sold with the accompanying slip for the British War and Victory Medals and original (damaged) registered envelope.
