Matthew O’Neill was born on 9 January 1915. Served in the ranks of the Welsh Regiment, 1933-41. Appointed Acting W.O. Class 2, October 1941-July 1942; War Substantive W.O. Class 2, July 1942-March 1952; Acting W.O. Class 1, July-November 1952 & April-September 1953, and attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 on 10 September 1953.

These medals are representative of the awards to the above and have been assembled in recent years for display purposes.
