India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7 (2551 Pte. J. Griffiths, 1st Bn. R.W. Fus.) edge bruise, good very fine £100-140

John Griffiths was born in Wrexham. A Collier by occupation, he attested for service in the Army on 18 February 1880, aged 24 years, 9 months; having previously served in the Royal Denbighshire Rifles. Posted to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, he served in India, 16 August 1880-13 April 1887 and was awarded the I.G.S. Medal with clasp for service in Burma, 8 November 1885-22 November 1886. Sold with copied service papers and roll extract.
