Five: attributed to Corporal L. Latimer, Royal Rifles of Canada

1939-45 Star;Pacific Star; Defence Medal, Canadian issue in silver; Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, with overseas clasp and clasp, ‘Hong Kong’; War Medal 1939-45, M.I.D. oak leaf, Canadian issue in silver, all unnamed, mounted for wear, together with metal cap badge and cloth shoulder title and sleeve badge, good very fine (8) £70-90

M.I.D. London Gazette 11 April 1946. ‘... in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the defence of Hong Kong in 1941’.

Lorne Rayburn Latimer was born in New Liskeard, Ontario on 31 May 1920. A Miner by occupation, he attested for the Royal Rifles of Canada at Valcartier, on 9 August 1940. Serving with them in Hong Kong; he was killed in action on 22 December 1941. He was buried in the Stanley Military Cemetery. Sold with copied service and other related papers.
