Arthur Douglas Spooner was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the A.S.C. on 28 October 1914 and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 2 November 1914, serving with the Motor Transport Depot. He was promoted to Lieutenant in December 1914, Captain in February 1916 and attained the rank of Major in November 1917. Sold with riband bar, original War Office forwarding slip for the M.C. and copied m.i.c.
