Three: Captain J. T. Berry, Royal Artillery, who died in Burma on 12 September 1944

Captain James Thomas Berry, 88 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, who had been mentioned in despatches, died/was killed on 12 September 1944, aged 26 years. His name is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial. He was the son of James and Fanny Berry of Blackpool, Lancashire. Sold with card medal forwarding box addressed to ‘Mr J. G. Berry, Snakeley Mill, Blackpool, Lancs.’; Buckingham Palace condolence slip named to ‘Captain James Thomas Berry’; two receipts for goods in India named to ‘Captain Thomas’; and a blurred photograph of the recipient.
