Three: Farrier Corporal A. McGarva, Army Service Corps, late Imperial Yeomanry

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (25723 Shg-Sth., 6th Imp. Yeo.), last four clasps loose on ribbon; Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, G.V.R. (1529 F. Cpl., L’ld. D.T. & S.C. A.S.C.); Special Constabulary Long Service, G.V.R., 1st issue (Andrew McGarva) very fine and better (3) £120-160

Andrew McGarva was born in Wigtownshire. A farrier by trade, he attested for short service in the Imperial Yeomanry on 14 February 1901, aged 24 years, eleven months, having previously served in the 5th Volunteer Battalion Highland Light Infantry. He served in South Africa from 13 March 1901 until 4 August 1902. He was discharged on 11 August 1902. Sold with copied service papers - clasps confirmed.
