Possibly 2nd Lieutenant Robert Haslam, 12th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, died of disease in Greece on 29 March 1918. He was buried in the Sarigol Military Cemetery, Kriston. He was the son of Anderson and Annie Haslam of the Pole, Unsworth, Whitefield, Manchester. Note at least one other officer with this name and initial.
Deck Hand John Maclean, R.N.R., was killed in action on 9 February 1917, when H.M.T. Yesso struck a mine off Aberdeen. He was the son of Neil Maclean of Borreraig, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. His name is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.
