Peter Veler was born in and enlisted at St. Peter’s, Jersey, serving initially as Private 128, Royal Jersey Garrison Battalion. Later, serving with the 1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 22 April 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
