Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (Lieut. M. C. Lynch, 14th Foot), short-hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge nicks, otherwise good very fine £1200-1400

Martin Crean Lynch, who was appointed an Ensign in the 14th Foot in February 1808, ‘served at the siege of Flushing. At Malta and the Ionian Islands under Lord Wm. Bentinck. At Genoa and in the South of France’ (Hart’s Army List refers). He was afterwards present in the rank of Lieutenant at the siege and capture of Bhurtpoor, was wounded in the assault on 18 January 1826 and was advanced to Captain shortly afterwards. Placed on the Retired List in 1846, he was advanced to Lieutenant-Colonel in 1854 and died in 1861.
