This lot was sold as part of a special collection, Naval Medals from the collection formed by Captain W. A. Tinlin, M.C., late 14th London Regiment (1880-1965).

The Royal Navy was represented at the battle of Kirbekan by a Maxim Gun detachment from H.M.S. Wye, under Lieutenant W. T. Bourke, with nine ratings including Gunner’s Mate Allen.
