K.P.M. London Gazette 1 January 1924. The following details were extracted from an official source: ‘In 1910 he was responsible for the detection of a most important case of counterfeit coining in the Sukhur District. In 1916 he ran to earth a gang of swindlers who were operating over a large area and had been responsible for many cases. In 1919 he showed exceptional ability, pertinacity and courage in the pursuit, capture and recapture of a number of prisoners who had escaped from the Hyderababd jail, with arms and ammunition, and who had re-escaped from police custody after they had been handed over to a police guard. In 1921, Mr Motwani was recommended for meritorious work of a delicate nature. He has since continued to render excellent service as Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of an Assistant Superintendent’s division.’
