D.C.M. London Gazette 3 October 1919: ‘On 12th June 1919, during the attack on a position south of Medvyeja-Gora, he advanced with his gun under heavy fire, and by effective fire from exposed positions did excellent work. When, owing to a stoppage in his gun, he had to expose himself to machine gun fire from an armoured train, his coolness was admirable. He had previously distinguished himself at Archangel in September.’

Edward Felton enlisted into the Rifle Brigade at Winchester in July 1906. He transferred to the 80th Brigade Machine Gun Company in May 1916, and to the 253rd Company M.G.C. in June 1918. Served with the British Expeditionary Force, December 1914 to December 1916, and with the North Russian Expeditionary Force, June 1918 to August 1919. Entitled to 1914-15 Star Trio.
