D.C.M. London Gazette 11 March 1920: ‘For conspicuous gallantry during the period 25th February to 31st December 1918. When the battalion was holding the line in front of Arras from 25th February to 14th July and during the enemy offensive he frequently got his wagons up during heavy shelling. In JUly, when the battalion was in action at Buzancy, he showed great resource in handling his transport.’
