Three: Private William Dewar, 42nd Royal Highlanders
Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol, unnamed; Indian Mutiny 1857-58, 1 clasp, Lucknow (42nd Rl. Highlanders); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, fitted with replacement scroll suspension, the first nearly extremely fine, otherwise very fine and better (3) £350-400

William Dewar, a weaver, was born in Dunfirmline, Fife, and enlisted for the 42nd Highlanders at Sterling on 20 August 1842, aged 18 years. Sold with copy service papers which confirm all medals and clasps, and also entitlement to the L.S. & G.C., awarded in July 1862.
