A mounted group of six miniature dress medals attributed to Commander D. F. Moir, D.S.O., Royal Navy, comprising: D.S.O., G.V.R., silver-gilt; Q.S.A., 2 clasps, C.C., S.A. 1901; A.G.S. 1902, 1 clasp, Aro 1901-1902; 1914-15 Star Trio with M.I.D. emblem, the B.W.M. with 9 clasps, Narrow Seas 1914, Heligoland 28 Aug. 1914, North Sea 1915, Dogger Bank 24 Jan. 15, North Sea 1916, Jutland 31 May 16, North Sea 1917, North Sea 1918, Eastern Baltic 1918-19, on a contemporary Court mounting as worn, very fine (6) £200-250

Dashwood Fowler Moir was Lieutenant of the Thrush and served in Southern Nigeria and in the expedition on the Lower Niger in 1902. Commanded the torpedo boat destroyer Ariel from January 1912; torpedo boat destroyer Goshawk from October 1914, in which he was present at Jutland and M.I.D.; and commanded the destroyer Valhalla from July 1918. He was awarded the D.S.O. for patrol services in 1917-18.
