1914 Star (9924 L. Cpl. H. Millar, R. Highrs.), good very fine £20-25

Lieutenant Colonel H. Millar was commissioned from the ranks of the Black Watch into the Cameron Highlanders on 4 October 1915, joining the 1st battalion of his new regiment in France in October 1915. Millar was promoted to Lieutenant and appointed Adjutant of the 3rd battalion in November 1916 and Captain May 1917 which rank he held until his retirement in March 1932 during which time he had held various `Staff appointments. On the outbreak of the Second War he rjoined serving again on the Staff, he retired in July 1947 and was given the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Sold with copied research.
