Motoring, 1906, a silver award medal by H. von Herkomer, semi-nude female figure leaning against the radiator of an early car, wearing a sash inscribed FUTURE, reverse wreath, named (The Motor Union of Great Britain & Ireland, Won by Col. F.W. Blood, Cheshire A.C. Gymkhana at Birkenhead, July 1908), hallmarked D.G. Collins, Birmingham, 1908, 72mm (cf. ‘English’ Collection III [Glendining 21 iii 1990], 170; Attwood, The Medal 4, pp.9-11, –; BDM –). Very fine and very rare; in bottom half of original red fitted case (£200-250)
