Bowcher for Spink, 45mm (BHM 3677; E. 1843a). [2]. Very fine and better, first exhibiting usual reverse die flaw; second in official red card box (£45-60)

Robert Stephenson Smyth, Lord Baden-Powell (1857-1941), held Mafeking against a Boer siege for 217 days before the town was relieved on 17 May 1900. He later founded the Boy Scout and Girl Guide movements. The silver medals by Spink originally sold for 12s 6d
