British Honduras, Corozal, Jones & Young, bronze Three-Halfpence token, 1875, 25th OCTOBER 1875 around J & Y, reverse value, 21mm (Lyall 131; Rulau 20; Prid –). Pierced, otherwise very fine and of the highest rarity, very few specimens known (£150-200)

Ex Cresswell-Corfield Collection. William J. Jones and David A. Young were shopkeepers in the town of Corozal, each of whom also owned sugar plantations. The date 1875 may be that of the company’s foundation. Rulau states “only about 3 pieces known” and quotes a catalogue price of $500. The former pedigree of this piece is not known; no examples were present in the Richard Ford or Ray Byrne collections
