E. I. McKay was born in Harrow, London. During the Second World War he was employed in vital industrial work and was several times refused permission to join the military forces. In 1946 he attested for the B.S.A. Police and in 1949 transferred to the C.I.D. He served primarily in Bulawayo, S. Rhodesia and in 1969 he was appointed Provincial Special Branch Officer of the city. McKay was appointed to the command of Special Branch in July 1975, a position he held until his retirement in late 1976. He was awarded the Police M.S.M. in 1971. Sold with some copied research.
