Mr C. M. L. Hallward served for many years in the Metropolitan Police, being first shown in the Imperial Calendar of 1872 as a Supplementary Clerk. In the 1876 List he is shown as a Clerk 2nd Class, and in the 1892 List as a Clerk 1st Class. He had retired by 1902.
