MILITARY MEDAL, G.V.R. (9351 Pte. V. E. Swan, 2/S.A. Inf.) nearly very fine

Private Swan received a severe gunshot wound above the left thigh during the South African advance beyond Beaurevoir, south of Cambrai, on 9 October, 1918. He was sent to Rouen Hospital and then to Hackney Infirmary, London. Swan was discharged after his recouperation at the Richmond Hospital and return to South Africa, on 26 April, 1919.
