The personal photograph album kept by Geoffrey Keyes who was awarded the Victoria Cross for leading the daring but ill-fated commando raid on Rommel's headquarters in 1941

PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM, containing nearly 200 original photographs. Subjects include his time at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst; with his regiment, The Royal Scots Greys, both at home and in Palestine before the outbreak of the War; various sporting activities including polo, hunting, sailing and skiing in Austria. Together with: a fine studio portrait photograph by Vandyk in the uniform of the Royal Scots Greys; a portrait photograph of his Father, later Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Keyes, in Naval uniform with medals prior to W.W.I.; invitations to Sir Roger Keyes to attend a Ball at Buckingham Palace, and the Jubilee Service at St. Paul's Cathedral, 1935; a personal letter to Sir Roger, four gold-braid uniform cuffs and a hip flask. An interesting and important lot in good condition
