Pair: 1st Class Sergeant Instructor G. Seaford, Great Indian Peninsula Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps, late 15th Foot

Sergeant-Major George Seaford was originally from Southsea, Hampshire and enlisted as a Boy aged 14 years in July 1873, firstly as a Private and in 1879 as a Drummer in the 15th Foot. In 1887 he was appointed to the rank of 1st Class Sergeant of Volunteers and transferred to the Unattached List. He later served with the Durham Light Infantry, Royal Lancaster Regiment and Royal Irish Rifles until his discharge in 1898. He returned to the colours in September 1914 as a Sergeant-Major in the Dorsetshire Regiment. He was again discharged in April 1920, receiving the M.S.M. for his wartime services.
