The Portsdown Gentlemen and Yeomanry, a very fine George III commission appointing Joseph Carter to be a Major in the corps, issued 26th June 1799, complete with paper coat of Arms etc., signed by George III and countersigned by Cortland, very fine condition for age £150-200

The full title of the above unit was Portsdown or South East Hampshire Volunteer Cavalry, the corps were disbanded c1828.
