Private Thomas Muir, 8th battalion Royal Scots, enlisted in Hamilton, Lanarkshire and was killed in action, France / Flanders, 12.4.1918. His name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial.

Lance Corporal John Black, 2nd battalion Gordon Highlanders, was born in Anderston, Lanarkshire and enlisted in Glasgow, died of wounds, France / Flanders, 20.6.1916. He was buried in the Citadel New Military Cemetery, Fricourt, France.
