THE PRESTON-MORLEY BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COLLECTION, Opening of Wolverton Park, 1885, a white metal medal, unsigned, similar, 38mm (Moyaux –; BHM –; Ratcliff, History & Antiquities of the Newport Hundreds, p.288; Swan –); County School, Wolverton, a brass and multicoloured enamel badge by Philip & Tacey Ltd, London, swan chained, 41 x 40mm [2]. First about very fine and pierced for suspension, rare, second extremely fine (£30-40)

The white metal Wolverton Park medals were presented to each child above the age of 5 at school in Wolverton. At least one other example is known within a family from Stony Stratford who used to live at Wolverton, which was given to the present owner’s grandmother. The only other example seen in commerce by the cataloguer, in silver, was in the McAlpine collection of railwayana auctioned by Bonhams, 10 September 1996, lot 383.
