Royal Humane Society Case No. 14,716: Michael Barrett and Charles Rickard, Coast Guard Boatmen, Littlehampton, dashed through the breakers and with a line to the vessel, saved a female named Barber, wife of the Master of Sloop “Charles & Laurel” of Colchester, 28 February 1849, off Coast Guard Station at Cockbush.
