John Papps was born at Westbury, Wiltshire, and enlisted for the 4th Dragoons at Warminster on 16 March 1807, aged 18. He was discharged on 12 November 1820, in consequence of ‘being unfit for marching duty and worn out’. His general conduct was described as being ‘Irregular’. Sold with copy discharge papers.
