clasp, Sebastopol, clasp loose on ribbon as issued; Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue, the first two with contemporary silver ribbon brooches, all unnamed as issued but sold with the recipient’s original vellum ‘Continuous Service Certificate’, this contained in its scarce original metal Admiralty slip case, good very fine (3) £150-200

Edward Newman was born at Braiding, Isle of Wight. He served aboard Neptune, February to March 1854; Prince Regent, March to November 1854, and Royal Albert, November 1854 to August 1858. His service papers confirm award of the Baltic and Crimea medals.
