Issued by the Monnaie in 1946. Auguste Marie Lumiere (1862-1954) and his brother Louis-Jean (1864-1948), were the inventors of an early motion-picture projector and pioneer filmmakers. Louis-Jean developed the cinematographe at his father’s factory in Lyons. It was first demonstrated before a paying audience in Paris on 28 December 1895, when ten of the Lumiere brothers’ films were shown, including a comic sequence, L’Arroseur Arose
