Leslie Parker was born in Nottingham in 1894 and attested there for the Royal Field Artillery. He served during the Great War with the 22nd Battery, Royal Field Artillery on the Western Front, and was severely wounded at Gheluvelt during the First Battle of Ypres, 29-31 October 1914. He died of his wounds two weeks later on 11 November 1914. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
