Royal Humane Society, small bronze medal (unsuccessful) (W. Cousens, June 11 1905), with Elkington box of issue, good very fine £60-80

On the afternoon of 11 June 1905 W. Cousens and two Sergeants of the East Surrey Regiment jumped into the harbour at Portsmouth to rescue two boys. The boys had been thrown into the water from a boat which they had made fast to a floating bridge in a strong flood tide. With photocopy from R.H.S. Case Book.
