The numismatic archive of the late Graham Teasdill, comprising an extensive correspondence from 1954 to 2006, including ALS and TLS from Marion Archibald, David Atkinson MP, Ted Bannister, John Ferrett, Otto von Habsburg, David Harkness, Horace King, Howard Linecar, Peter Seaby, Geoffrey Watson and various European mints and national banks from the 1950s and 1960s, together with articles, press cuttings, an extensive group of material and MSS relating to hoards and single finds from the Bournemouth and East Dorset areas and associated coroner’s reports, papers detailing talks given to numismatic societies and an early draft for a proposed catalogue of transport tokens [Lot]. Graham Teasdill, RSA, FZS (1935-2010), b Horsforth; educ. Ilkley Grammar School; started to collect coins 1945, encouraged by Albert Bagnall; joined the Yorkshire Numismatic Society 1951; assistant at Tolson Museum, Huddersfield, 1954; assistant curator, Cheltenham Museum & Art Gallery, 1960; curator, Bagshaw Museum, Batley, 1962; curator, Russell-Cotes art Gallery & Museum, Bournemouth, 1966-88. Sold with a copy obituary which mentions his provisional appointment as director of the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra, in the summer of 1968, and the original correspondence relating to his failure to secure the post
