Bertram Walker was born in Birmingham and attested for the 5th (Reserve) Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1902, transferring to the Regular Army the following year. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 22 August 1914, and was killed in action on 25 April 1915. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
