Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (27340 Tpr. T. Lewis, C. in C. Bodyguard) very fine £60-70

Trooper T. Lewis was injured at Standerton, Transvaal Border, on 16 April 1901. The Commander in Chief’s bodyguard was formed by Lord Roberts in January 1900 from picked Colonial troops. It was disbanded sometime in August 1901 at which time it had a strength of about 1000 men.
