Allan Chapple Gibson was born in Watson’s Bay, New South Wales, on 2 June 1919 and attested for the Australian Forces at Paddington, Sydney, on 12 July 1940. He served with the 2/33 Battalion in the Middle East. New Guinea, and Morotai from 27 July 1941, and was discharged on 21 January 1946. He died on 17 January 2013.
