Roman Imperatorial Coinage, POMPEIANS, Cnæus Pompeius, Denarius, uncertain Spanish mint, 46-5, helmeted head of Athena right, rev. Hispania standing right, shield slung on back and holding two spears, handing long palm frond to Pompeian soldier standing on ship prow, 3.26g (Craw. 469/1e; BMCRR Spain 75; RSC Pompey the Great 1a). Obverse struck slightly off-centre and removed from a ring mount, otherwise about very fine, scarce £100-£150
