17th Century Tokens, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, Higham Ferrers, Twyford Worthington, Proof Halfpenny, 1656, in base silver, 3.66g/6h (Waddell 38; dies not in N; BW. 41). On a roughly hewn flan, test marks in edge, otherwise about very fine, exceptionally rare and in all probability UNIQUE £700-£900

The only other silver tokens of the period known are a tiny number of pieces for the Northampton issuer John Twigden, dated 1666 (cf. DNW 176, lot 153)
