Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Richd. Stevens. Pte. R.M: H.M.S. Nassau.) engraved naming, polished, very fine, the reverse better £100-£140

Richard Stevens was born in Witney, Oxfordshire, and enlisted in the Royal Marines at Reading on 31 May 1865. He joined H.M.S. Nassau at Malta on 25 October 1873, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 4 September 1876. He subsequently saw service with the Royal Marine Battalion in Egypt 1884-85 (Medal with clasps for Suakin 1885 and Tofrek; and Khedive’s Star). He was finally discharged on 1 June 1886.
