Abraham Thompson was born in the Parish of Dewsbury, Yorkshire, and enlisted into the 1st Foot Guards at Manchester on 15 February 1800, aged twenty, for unlimited service, a Waterman by trade. He served in Lieutenant-Colonel Lord Saltoun’s (Light) Company at Waterloo, in particular at Hougoument, and was discharged in consequence of rheumatism on 26 October 1822, after a total service of 24 years 255 days including two years for Waterloo. Sold with copied service papers and research.
