An Egyptian ‘ankh’ symbol diamond set bracelet, the articulated bracelet composed of hinged ‘ankh’ symbol links, polished and spaced with rubover set brilliant-cut diamond accents, mounted in yellow precious metal, Egyptian hallmarks for 18ct gold, and date letter mark, length 20.5cm. £800-£900

The ankh is an ancient Egyptian hiroglyphic symbol commonly used to represent the word for ‘life’, or ‘eternal life’ and continued to be used by the Coptic Egyptians as the ‘crux ansata’ (Latin meaning ‘cross with a handle’), a variant of the Christian cross.
